Google Cloud Connect is released by February 2011 which is available in market from November 2010 for testing people. Google Cloud Connect is the free plug-in that improves Microsoft office 2003,2007 and 2010 on Windows PC.It syncs a user’s Office docs with their Google Docs, and adds a toolbar for sharing documents right into Office. We’ve been asking for offline access for Google Docs for years now, and this is a step towards that.

Google Stores the document in its original Microsoft format not as a google document. If we are trying to download the google Docs from web browser that will be marked by Microsoft icons then it will appear in read-only format. The Edit Online will be available for the Excel and Word document for the online viewer. When the google document will be convert into office document with possible loss of formatting not in text format.

It may also work as SharePoint and it allow in browser editing without conversion to a different format, thought the editing features on offer are very limited compared with desktop application.
